Welcome to the Mental
Health Association in Cleveland County
Operation Santa Claus
Each year the Mental Health Association
in Cleveland County proudly sponsors Operation Santa Claus for those adult residents of Cleveland County living
with a severe and persistent mental illness or intellectual and developmental disability.
We still have 35 ornaments that need
hosts or sponsors. We need your help to ensure these gift requests are filled:
1) Make a monetary donation to sponsor a
Cleveland County resident at Christmas time. Most gifts can be purchased for $25 or less.
You can also donate by mailing a
Mental Health Association in Cleveland
P.O. Box 623
Shelby, NC 28151
2) Click here to request a "cyber ornament" sent to your inbox.
You can then do the shopping for a particular individual living with a severe and persistent mental illness
and deliver your gift to MHA on or before December 17,
Many of the adults who participate in
the program are both physically and mentally disabled. Many reside in state facilities such as J. Iverson
Riddle and the O’Berry Center. For a
great many of these consumers, this is the only gift they receive at Christmastime as many have no family and some
even no home.
